Our bus network is changing

Changes to bus service starting March 21

Starting this spring, a number of adjustments will be made to bus service so that routes can bypass construction zones and serve areas affected by tramway work.

With the construction of the tramway, many construction sites are planned in Québec City over the next few years. This work will take place on major traffic arteries in the city, which are at the heart of our bus network. We must therefore adjust our bus service to bypass the construction zones. These changes will enable us to continue providing reliable service and maintain service in the affected areas.

Our other services like the paratransit (STAC), Flexibus and àVélo, will still be in operation during the construction.

Changes to Métrobus 800 and 801 and creation of Métrobus 805

Starting this spring, our buses will no longer be able to operate on a large portion of Boulevard René-Lévesque, Boulevard Laurier and a section of Chemin des Quatre-Bourgeois.

Due to these construction-related constraints, changes to Métrobus 800 and 801 are required, along with the creation of Métrobus 805.

Changes to Métrobus 800 and 801

Métrobus 800 and 801 will continue to serve Parliament Hill, but their routes will be modified to end in the Grand Théâtre area, at the intersection of Rue de l’Amérique‑Française and Rue Jacques-Parizeau. Métrobus 800 and 801 will no longer go to the Marly terminal.

This change will help ensure more reliable service on these routes in the context of the construction work. To travel further into the Sainte-Foy area, passengers can transfer to the new Métrobus 805.

New Métrobus 805

Frequency

Every 5 to 15 minutes, depending on the time of day.

Route

Métrobus 805 will run between the Parc-Victoria terminal in Lower Town and the Marly terminal at Pointe-de-Sainte-Foy. The route will pass through Upper Town via Grande Allée, then continue to Cité-Universitaire, along Boulevard Hochelaga, Route de l’Église and Chemin des Quatre-Bourgeois.

To travel between downtown and Sainte-Foy, Métrobus 800 and 801 passengers will be able to transfer to this new route at stops along their route between the Grand Théâtre and Lower Town.

Métrobus 801 passengers wishing to go to the Sainte-Foy area will be able to transfer at the new Parc-Victoria terminal to be the first to board Métrobus 805. The layout of this terminal will provide a comfortable environment designed for easy transfers.

Please note that the route schedules will be available in our information tools a few weeks before March 21, 2026.

Route changes downtown

Affected routes : 800, 801, 11, 19, 25, 136, 230, 236, 238, 239, 250, 251, 253, 254, 255, 257, 258, 283, 291, 292, 294, 925, 931, 991 and 992

Due to the numerous construction sites on Boulevard René-Lévesque, several routes downtown will need to be modified to use alternative streets. In addition to the adjustments made to Métrobus 800 and 801 routes, the start and end points of certain other routes will also be relocated.

Merger of routes 11 and 25

In the downtown area, Route 11 will be merged with 25 to maintain service to the streets of Old Québec, including Côte de la Fabrique, Côte du Palais, Rue des Jardins, Rue Cook and Rue Saint-Jean.

In addition, Route 11 will no longer serve Boulevard Laurier in order to avoid the construction zone. Since the new Métrobus 805 will already serve the Cité-Universitaire area and Boulevard Hochelaga, Route 11 will no longer run on these streets. Route 11 will instead run on Chemin Saint‑Louis, from Rue Sheppard to the Marly terminal, just like Route 25.

With these changes to Route 11, Route 25 will be discontinued.

Operation of routes 283, 291, 292 and 294 on Chemin Sainte-Foy

To bypass construction and minimize delays on 283, 291, 292 and 294, their routes will be modified to run on Chemin Sainte-Foy, between Avenue Belvédère and Avenue Honoré-Mercier.

The destinations remain unchanged.

Adjustments to service in the Grand Théâtre area

The start and end points of the routes will be reorganized around the Grand Théâtre so that the routes avoid the tramway construction zone and maintain service in the area.

  • Route 136 and eXpress 236, 238, 250, 251, 253, 254, 255, 257 and 258 will be modified to terminate on Rue de l’Amérique-Française and return via Rue Jacques-Parizeau and Rue Louis-Alexandre-Taschereau.

  • The starting point for 230 and 239 will be relocated to stop 2146 – J.-Parizeau, located at the intersection of Rue Claire-Fontaine and Rue Jacques-Parizeau. Stop 2949 – Turnbull/2949 will be discontinued.

  • The destination of 19, heading toward the Grand Théâtre, will be changed to Terminus Place-D’Youville. Its route will be adjusted to run on Chemin Sainte‑Foy, Rue D’Aiguillon and Rue Saint‑Jean.

  • Couche‑tard 925, 931, 991 and 992 will be rerouted to provide service via Rue de l’Amérique‑Française and Rue Jacques‑Parizeau before continuing on to Grande‑Allée.

Route changes in Sainte-Foy, Sillery and Cap-Rouge

Affected routes: 800, 801, 804, 11, 12, 13, 13A, 13B, 13D, 16, 22, 25, 70, 76, 88, 91, 92, 93, 94, 107, all eXpress 500, 332, 925, 931, 991 and 992

In the Sainte‑Foy area, bus service will no longer operate on the portion of Boulevard Laurier between Boulevard Robert‑Bourassa and Route de l’Église due to construction. Several routes that run on this section will now use Boulevard Hochelaga.

Some routes will no longer run on certain avenues on the Université Laval campus or in the Complexe Jules‑Dallaire area. These bus routes will also be modified to avoid these construction zones.

Route changes in the Université Laval area

On the Université Laval campus in the Sainte‑Foy area, eXpress 500 and routes 13, 16, 91, 92, 93 and 94 will be modified and will no longer run on Avenue de la Médecine, between Avenue des Sciences‑Humaines and Rue de la Foresterie. This change is necessary to avoid the construction zone on Boulevard Laurier.

Routes 13 and 16 will no longer serve Avenue du Séminaire in order to bypass the construction, and their routes will be redirected to Rue de la Foresterie.

To travel further across the campus, passengers will still be able to transfer to Métrobus 804 and Route 904, which will continue to operate on Avenue du Séminaire.

Route changes in the Saint-Louis and Sillery neighbourhoods and new Route 12

  • In the Sainte-Foy, Sillery and Cap-Rouge area, Route 11 will be modified to run on Chemin Saint-Louis. Grande Allée, Boulevard Hochelaga and Chemin des Quatre-Bourgeois will already be served by the new Métrobus 805.

  • To provide faster and more reliable service, Route 13 will be adjusted to serve only the area north of Chemin des Quatre-Bourgeois. The route will be modified to run on Avenue du Chanoine-Scott and will no longer take Chemin Sainte-Foy. The area south of Chemin des Quatre-Bourgeois will be served by the new Route 12, which will connect Université Laval to Pointe-de-Sainte-Foy via Boulevard Hochelaga to Route de l’Église.

  • With the same goal of faster service in mind, Route 76 will be modified so that it no longer runs on Rue Roland-Beaudin. It will instead continue straight along Route de l’Église,

  • The route of Couche-tard 925 will be adjusted to run on Rue Sheppard and Avenue Maguire before continuing on to Chemin Saint-Louis.

Adjustments to service in the Complexe Jules-Dallaire and shopping centre areas

  • Métrobus 804, eXpress 500 routes and routes 70, 91, 92, 93, 94, 904, 931, 991 and 992 will no longer operate on Boulevard Laurier from the Cité-Universitaire. Their routes will be redirected to Boulevard Hochelaga, where a reserved lane will ensure more reliable bus service.

  • The routes of 804, Route 70 and Couche-tard 904 will also be modified in the Complexe Jules-Dallaire area. Their new routes will go to Route de l’Église, via Rue Jules-Dallaire and Avenue Germain-des-Prés.

  • Route 16 will no longer serve the Saint-Louis neighbourhood, from Cité-Universitaire to Route de l’Église and Avenue de Germain-des-Prés. However, Route 16 will continue to provide service to Université Laval.

  • Routes22 and 88 will be modified to terminate earlier on Route de l’Église, at Avenue l’Isle-Dieu and in the Avenue Roland-Beaudin area.

Discontinuation of routes 13A, 13B, 107 and 332

  • To improve service in the area, routes 13A and 13B will be discontinued and replaced by the new school route 13D. Route 13D will serve schools in the central plateau of Sainte-Foy, following a route adapted to avoid construction zones in the area, including via Avenue du Chanoine-Scott.

  • Since service along Grande-Allée to the Marly terminal will now be provided by Métrobus 805, and Métrobus 807 will continue to run on Chemin Sainte-Foy, Route 107 will be discontinued.

  • Route 332 will be discontinued since service between the Galeries de la Capitale terminal and the Jules-Dallaire area is already provided by Route 70, whose frequency was increased last fall. To continue travelling to or from the Lebourgneuf area, passengers will still be able to transfer to Métrobus 803 or Route 61.

Please note that the route schedules will be available in our information tools a few weeks before March 21, 2026.
